By sentencing a man to church, he is in effect tearing down the separation between church and state -- in effect making a church the instrument by which the state carries out a sentence (what's next -- exorcisms as penalty for puking up pea soup?).
He is also subjecting the church however to the possible violence that may come from having a violent repeat offender in their midst. America needs to put an end to religion meddling in the affairs of state -- faith is a choice, not a government edict.
For my work I have to scour over two hundred newspapers a day. I often come across offbeat stories located on these papers actual front page. These are articles that you might not find on any other odd news site. I have posted an image of the front page of the newspaper as well as a link to the full article on the paper's website.
